Halophytes sound great. But, in desert regions, their yields are smaller? Well, to say it’s cost-effective then, I hope the lower yield would be made up for by the lower cost. Also, the passage talks about pumping seawater being easier, but is that the only cost associated with growing crops to feed animals?
